Description
This lovely botanical engraving is from Johannes Zorn’s
Dreyhundert auserlesene Amerikanische Gewachse. The work was published in Nuremberg by Raspische Buchhandlung between 1785 and 1789. The work featured plants of America and the West Indies and were engraved on fine chain laid paper with original hand-coloring. The work was strongly composed of reduced engravings of Nikolaus Joseph Jacquin’s
Selectorum stirpium Americanum historia. The engravings were completed by Louise Romer.
Condition report:
