This detailed engraving is from Salomon Kleiner’s
Residences Memorable De l’incomparable Heros de nôtre Siecle ou Representation exacte des Edifices et Jardins de Son Altesse Serenissime Monseigneur Le Prince Eugene Francois Duc de Savoye et de Piemont… The work was published in Augsburg between 1731 and 1740 by the Heirs of Jeremias Wolff.
The engravings feature text below in French and German. Kleiner’s work is considered a masterpieces of Baroque architecture. He illustrated the Belvedere Palace and Gardens in Vienna. This was the summer home of Prince Eugene of Savoy built by the architect Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt.
