This beautiful, original watercolor was indluded with Carl Wilhelm Hahn’s "Ornithologischer Atlas oder naturgetreue Abbildung und Beschreibung der aussereuropäischen Vogel." The work was published in Nuremberg between 1834 and 1841.

This appears to be an original watercolor that was either the example for the engraving or created after the original engravings of Hahn.

Carl Wilhelm Hahn (1786-1835) was a German zoologist. This work focused on documenting and illustrating birds outside of Europe. He was also noted to have written the first German monograph on spiders.

Condition report:

The work is in very good to excellent condition overall. There is some light mottlnig or discoloration of the paper. The lower portion with nomenclature has been tabbed onto the watercolor paper.
