Description
This portfolio of 50 folio, first edition color lithographs is Hartley Burr Alexander and C. Szwedzicki’s
Sioux Indian Painting. The work was published by C Szwedzicki in 1938 in Nice, France. This is from # 358 of 400 sets in total. The lithographs are housed loosely in portfolio as issued.
The work featured illustrations of several Indians including that of 3 Sioux, 1 Mandan, 4 Shoshone, and 1 Kiowa artist. It also included several from noted Sioux Artist, Amos Bad Hear Buffalo. There were many illustrations of the Battle of the Little Big Horn, the Custer Battle, and the Wounded Knee massacre throughout the work.

Condition report:
The work is in very good to excellent condition overall. There is some rubbing to the covers of the portfolio. Very nice example. There may be a few minor imperfections to be expected with age, but this work is generally very clean. Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
