Description
This lithographed poster is from Jean-Louis Sponsel’s
Das Moderne Plakat. The workwas published in Dresden in 1897 by Verlag von Gehard Kuhtmann.
The illustrations were from noted artist including Alphonse Mucha, Jules Cheret, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Theophile Steinlen, Eugene Grasset, Will Bradley, Louis Rhead, and others. The publication was Germany’s work at the height of the "poster craze" in a similar style to Paris’s
Les Affiches Illustrees.
