Description
This volume with 107 in text natural history woodcuts is Johannis Colerus’s
Oeconomia oder Hausbuch… The work was published in 1607 in Wittenberg by Paul Helwigs.
The binding is in quarter black cloth with three quarter marbled board (modern re-binding). The work includes 107 in text black and white illustration (frontispiece with old possibly original color). The images depict all kinds of animals including quadrupeds, birds, fish and sea life, and insects.
Johannes Colerus (1566-1639) was Protestant pastor and author. His name has been translated to Coler, Koler, Coleri, Coleris.
Provenance: Book plate dated 1937 with ‘aus der bibliothek Waldemar Schwable’ (spelling?)

Condition report:
The work is in very good to excellent condition overall. There is some browning or toning to the paper and signs of wear or handling from age. There are images and text to each side with some bleed through. There may be a few minor marks or imperfections to be expected with age.
