Description

This bold and rare costume or poster design is by Walter Schnackenberg from the work
Kostüme, Plakate und Dekorationen. The work was published in Munich by Musarion-Verlag in 1922.

The presentation of his work is similar to the
Maitres de l’Affiche in that they were pulled by Oskar Consee, Schnackenberg’s exlusive printer, and done under the artist’s supervision. Each was richly printed on high quality paper. The work featured hand-colored pochoir lithographs (some with gold hi-lites) and some photogravures. Oskar Bie provided introductory text for the work.

Walter Schnackenberg (1880-1961) was an important poster and commercial artist as well as costume and set designer. He was a student at Stuck and a member of the Luitpold group.

Paper Size: ~ 9 7/8" by 13 1/8"
