Description
This beautifully illustrated volume is Clio’s
Illustrations de Mucha. This first edition was published in Paris in 1900 by Calmann Levy.
The volume is bound in three quarter leather with gilt-stamped title and edged head. There are 12 illustrations by Mucha, 7 of which are full page.
Alfons Maria Mucha (1860-1939) was a Bohemian and Czech artist. He produced most of his early work in Paris and truly broke through around 1895. He moved back to Prague in 1910. Mucha was one of the most influential artists to the art nouveau movement.
