The work was published in 1819 in London by the author.
This is a large paper edition with 125 engravings. The listing is for volume one only of the work. It is bound in contemporary paneled calf and gilt.

Condition report:
The work is in overall good to very good condition. ‘Remains of Gibbon’s Tennis Court’ with overlay. Some text leaves inlaid to folio sheets. There is some spotting throughout, occasional staining, offsetting. The binding is worn with some splitting to spine. There may be a few minor marks or imperfections to be expected with age.
