This map is from Right Rev. M. Russell’s
Polynesia: or, An Historical Account of the Principal Islands in the South Sea, including New Zealand. This is from the second edition published at Oliver & Boyd in Edinburg as well as Simkin, Marshall, & Co in London in 1843. The work was created to help with the introduction of Christianity into the islands of the South Seas.
Paper Size: ~ 9 5/8 – 10 3/8" by 8 3/4" (Fold Out)
Condition report:
The work is in good to very good condition overall. There is some very light foxing nearer to the edges or folds. There is some lower right margin absent due to the fold out nature of the plate and binding process. There may be a few minor marks or imperfections to be expected with age.
