Description
This volume with 28 exceptional color dog chromolithographs is Vero Shaw’s
The Illustrated Book of the Dog. The work was published by Cassell and Company of London in 1883.
Shaw’s work was one of the earliest works to contain colored canine plates. Each subject was set in British, Scottish or Welsh landscapes or interiors. There are also numerous in text wood engraved illustrations. It is bound in later 1/4 leather with marbled boards.
