Description
This lovely illustrated volume with 8 tinted lithographs is Louis Lortet’s
Observations sur les Tortues Terrestres et Paludines du Bassin de la Mediterranee. The work was published in Lyon in 1887 by Archives du Museum d’Histoire Naturelle de Lyon. It is volume four bound in modern cloth-backed plain boards. It has 26 pages and 8 tinted lithographs, some with hand-color and gum Arabic.

Observations sur les Tortues terrestres et paludines de Bassin de la Mediterranee includes the detailed descriptions and illustrations of nine turtles and tortoises with information on coloration, distribution, habits, and reproduction.
