Description
This fine map is from Louis Brion de la Tour. It is entitled "Nouveau Mexique, Louisiane, Canada, et N.lle Angleterre." The work was published by Louis Charles Desnos in 1786. The map was first published in 1766. The map has a decorative cartouche in the lower right, surrounding text, and and an ornate border.
The map shows discoveries along the northwest coast of America. It also shows a mythical NW passage from Hudson Bay to Lake Winipigue (Winnipeg). It depicts Florida, French Louisiana, and New Mexico. It also notates Indian habitation, cities, settlements, and notably physical features.
Condition report:
The work is in very good to excellent condition overall. There is a slight vertical crease to the left of the fold from the binding process. There may be a few minor imperfections to be expected with age. Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
