This volume with 48 originally hand colored bird engravings is Pierre Auguste Joseph Drapiez’s
Resume d’Ornithologie ou d’Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux. The work was published in Paris in 1829 by Bureau de l’Encyclopédie Portrative.
Pierre Auguste Joseph Drapiez (1778-1856) was a Belgian naturalist. His work was influenced by and sought to further expand the knowledge presented by Buffon, Daubenton, Lacepede, Cuvier, and de Jussieu.
