This richly detailed folio etching is from Luigi Rossini’s
Le antichita romane, ossia, Raccolta delle piu Interessanti vedute di Roma antica… This is from the second edition of the work published in Rome in 1829 by the Scudellari shop in Via Condotti from the Mercurj and Robaglia types.

Luigi Rossini (1790-1857) was an Italian architect and printmaker. Rossini was inspired by the work of Piranesi. His etchings featured dramatic views of ancient Roman ruins that were historically accurate and grand in scale. He drew and etched each of the plates for this work.

The work is in very good to excellent condition overall. Occasionally the lines from the engraving will create a color effect in the pictures, there is no color to the plates.
