Description
This lovely art periodical is Hans Sachs’s
Das Plakat Magazine or
The Poster Magazine. It was a German trade magazine created by Hans Sachs beginning around 1900 with this issued in January 1921.
The magazine includes 30 full page poster lithographs. The cover and 5 of the full page lithographs are after Walter Schnackenberg, with additional illustrations from Ludwig Hohlwein, Otto Ottler, and others. There are also numerous in text illustrations.
Hans Sachs paid great attention to detail using the same production methods as the original posters to create his magazine pages.
Das Plakat Magazine had limited circulation, with at most 2000 copies printed at the height of its popularity.
