Description
This fine volume with 61 originally hand-colored botancial engravings is from Gottlied Tobias Wilhelm’s
Unterhaltungen aus der Naturgeschichte or
Natural History. This volume was published in Augsburg by Engelbrecht in 1812. The volume is bound in leather with marbled boards and includes the frontispiece and complete text.
The engravings were completed by Paul Martin Wilhelm, brother of the author, and others. Wilhelm’s work was a fine example of the encyclopaedic science of the period. The work’s main goal was education, thus it’s compact publication.
